Xanthelasma treatment

Xanthelasma is generally seen with patients having high cholesterol where small soft or hard yellow patches are noticed on the outer corners of the eyelids. Usually these patches don’t go away on their own; they need some treatments like-

• Dissolving the growth of patches with the help of bichloroacetic acid or trichloroacetic acid.
• Cryosurgery, where they are frozen off with intense cold.
• Removal through laser.
• Removing through surgery.
• Electrodessication, using electric needles to remove it.
