Some women have nipples which permanently point inwards mostly caused by a short milk duct pulling the outside of nipple in.
Surgery involves release of tight structures in nipple and placement of purse string suture at the base of nipple. Surgery is done under local anaesthesia and takes 1-2 hours.
Side effects include temporary bruising, swelling, discomfort, decreased sensation; inability to breast feed the child.
